Office Hours, Friday

Steve was in his office on Friday, looking through resources for his class and discarding the ones that seemed to have an agenda beyond 'actually educate them about this stuff.' A depressing percentage of the total wound up filed in the circular file, but between what was left and his notes and resources from the last time he'd taught this class, he thought he had plenty to be getting on with.

"I am!" Steve said, because he did not speak gopher and would have had a second spot open, anyway.

"Cool!" Wait. "I won't have to do any of the teaching, right?"

STEVE, REMEMBER THE LAST TIME YOU LET A TONY STARK TEACH THIS CLASS?

"Not unless I can't make it," Steve said, "which is unlikely but you never know when things are going to come up."

Better you than Topher once he wasn't a gopher any more, Tony. Actually the gopher would have been better.

"I'll do my best," Steve promised, "but sometimes things come up." Things like massive crossover events.

"Like trips home," Tony supplied. "Where sometimes people attack you and you have to defend yourself."

"Hopefully not that," Steve said.

No, Tony. No. Also, it was completely different when Steve did it, not least because the technology part was not involved.

"Try to avoid that." Tony was biting his tongue about mentioning the blond woman Steve had totally not been awkward with.

That was a good choice, Tony! Because trying to explain Sharon to a teenager would probably hurt something in Steve's brain. As well as possibly his heart. "I intend to," he said. "I could say the same to you, you know." And did. Frequently.

"I haven't gotten into any trouble since the whole... Wakanda thing."

Possibly due to holidays. What of it?

"Good," Steve said. "I hope you keep up the streak." It was probably an idle hope, but he had it. "One thing about this class that'll be a little different; I'll need you to help me keep order. If people start acting immature, you have my permission to say something to them."
