LaGuardia Airport, Monday Afternoon

As soon as the foursome from Fandom exited the terminal, a man walked up to Steve, handed him an envelope, and walked off without saying a word. Ah, SHIELD's unnecessary secrecy. How Steve didn't miss it. He opened the envelope and took out two things: the keys to a Porsche and a piece of paper, which he unfolded and scanned. As he read, a grin spread across his face. "Yeah, Tony, you're going to have to sign this before we can leave."

Nathan was not going to be a back seat driver. He wasn't. He was going to make a point of it. Of that, and not looking out the window.

There were going to be thumb-shaped indents in that headrest.

"Too fast, most likely."

"We are not going to crash into an airplane and die horribly," Tyler reassured him.

A beat.

"... are we?"

"Relax," Steve said. "I'm an excellent driver." Even if he hadn't driven one of these bad boys in over two years. "Everyone's wearing their seatbelts, right?" Then, to Tony, he said, "This model? Up to 200 miles per hour."

Oh sure, give Tony ideas. "How fast are we going now?"

"... Too fast, most likely."

Yes, he was repeating himself. No, Nathan did not care.

"Well, we're still in the city, so, about sixty-five."

"How about we try for two hundred?"

NO, TONY.

"NO, Tony." Nathan was now firmly stressing that point by closing his eyes and attempting to bury his head between his knees. Which he could almost do, even with the injuries and the absolute lack of elbow room back there.

Okay, fine. It was just the injuries holding him back. He was small enough that he could have, otherwise.

"Don't make Nathan throw himself out the window," Tyler said. He had his forehead pushed against the glass and was all but vibrating in happiness as he watched the city speed away beneath them.

Steve laughed. "Everything's fine. Nathan, relax. I really do know what I'm doing. Tony, no. Not with Nathan in the car, anyway." He might be able to twist Steve's arm later.

Glancing back at Tyler, Tony smirked--okay, smiled just a little bit. "See, it's going to be a perfectly normal vacation."

Not a bee in sight.

"I'll believe it when we get back to Fandom in one piece," Nathan mumbled, somewhere in the general direction of his feet.

Of course, if they all got back in one piece, it would hardly be a normal vacation for them, would it?

"Flying cars," Tyler said to no one in particular. "We're in the future."

And then he sat back to enjoy the ride.
